An All Progressives Congress chieftain in Plateau state, Col Sunday Shwatshaka Kaswe rtd has advised Governor Simon Bako Lalong to monitor the care taker committee chairmen over poor performance and resources management.
Kaswe said the idea of bringing in transition management committee chairmen on board is in the right direction.
He gave this advice while speaking with our correspondent in Jos.
He said the extension of their tenure of office to another six months will spur them to perform , We also believe that they should focus more on wider consultation with ward leaders.
Kaswe, however, said by extending their stay for this purpose even though we know that the state has no funds to conduct fresh elections because of activities of the past administrators.
He lamented the meager amount of money that are being share and given to various transitions chairmen ,we expect them to make judicious use of it in the area of wooing followers also to identified key projects in consultation with key stakeholders to realize this APC agenda .
Kaswe said that most of the councils’ men for reason best known, perhaps, their tenure as transition were not decided so they do not consult stakeholders.
He added the tenure of management committee chairmen was extended against and the House has written the state government that some of them recorded poor performance, those ones should have been rejected by government.
Col. Kaswe rtd condemned that most of them that never perform in accordance with the APC directive should vacate office.
It is my personal opinion that, that suggestion opted by the House reasons being that if all of them are allow to go irrespective of performance will go a long way to encourage corruption .
He explained further that the new ones will now believe that whether you perform or not the government may decide to remove them since their not tenure by law.
Kaswe stressed that this will make them to be careful to sit up by not embezzling public fund.
” We want to encourage them to work hard knowing fully well that they’re going to be exercise replacement to retain their office ”.
