The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Civil Defense and Security Corp, NSCDC, Plateau chapter, Olasupo Solomon has said that he expresses fear whenever it is about to rain in the State due to the destruction of some vital documents in their office as a result of heavy downpour especially the last Thursday heavy rainfalls that wreaked havoc to riffles and equipment.
Solomon made this call at the temporary headquarters of the NSCDC Plateau state in Jos.
He commended Governor Simon Bako Lalong for placing security as one of his topmost priority by delivering four vehicles to the state command all in a bid to tackle insecurity and criminal minds who are on the rampage.
The Commandant also showered appreciation to the state government towards enhancing the performance of its staff who now embark day and night surveillance of security network to curb security challenges in all the nook and cranny of the state.
Solomon said 4 persons have been arrested for vandalizing transformers and electric facilities where two have been charged to court while the other two are still undergoing trial for stealing and committing various offenses.
According to him, two of the accused persons were convicted for two years on Thursday by the federal high court sitting in Plateau State.
He explained that trailer load of petroleum products heading to unknown destination suspected to be conveying the products to the neighboring community was intercepted on Thursday night during the operation.
Olasupo Solomon revealed that following an investigation by the command they culprit confessed of trying to sell premium motor spirit to local buyers.
He stressed that the 4 Hilux van given to the state command has been distributed amongst operation, quick response, intelligence unit and grassroots intelligence including natural disaster department for operation keep Plateau safe.
