NSCDC Arrest Man Carrying AK47 At Church In Plateau State

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested a man in possession of a firearm in a church in Bokkos LGA, Plateau state, on Sunday.

 

A report by Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency publication focused on Lake Chad region, disclosed that the incident occurred about 8:30 am.

 

The publication said operatives of NSCDC, acting on intelligence, apprehended the suspect during a routine security patrol around the church compound.

 

Zagazola quoted a source to have said: “The suspect was found in possession of a gun and could not provide any satisfactory explanation or legal documentation for it.

 

“The swift action of our operatives helped prevent what could have escalated into a serious security breach.”

 

The publication said authorities had yet to release the suspect’s identity as of press time.

 

The report said authorities had continued their preliminary investigations.
