The Bauchi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, the 1st Gung Zaar of Zaar Chiefdom, at his palace.
In his remarks, the Commandant expressed his profound gratitude to His Royal Majesty for granting the delegation the privilege of the visit. He appreciated the Paramount Ruler for the continuous support extended to the NSCDC and other sister security agencies operating across the two local government areas within the Chiefdom.
Commandant Oyerinde further appealed for sustained support and cooperation from His Royal Majesty to enable the Corps and other security agencies to effectively carry out their respective mandates. He noted that since the actualization of the Zaar Chiefdom and the installation of its Paramount Ruler, the communities within the Chiefdom have continued to experience remarkable peace and stability.
In his response, His Royal Majesty warmly welcomed the Commandant and his team and expressed appreciation for the visit. He commended the NSCDC and other security agencies for their resilience, dedication, and commitment to ensuring peace, security, and the safety of lives and property across the Chiefdom.
His Royal Majesty also reflected on the long struggle for the actualization of the Zaar Chiefdom, noting that many lives were lost and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the process. He therefore called on the people to embrace forgiveness, unity, and peaceful coexistence as a foundation for the growth and development of the Chiefdom.
The Paramount Ruler further appealed to the Commandant and other security agencies to continue strengthening collaboration and synergy in order to sustain peace and security across the Chiefdom and neighboring communities.
He used the opportunity to express his profound appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Kauran Bauchi, GHBZI, Zaar, and other distinguished personalities who contributed immensely to the successful actualization of the Zaar Chiefdom.
The Commandant was accompanied on the visit by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Tafawa Balewa, the Joint Task Force (JTF) Commandant of Tafawa Balewa, and representatives of other security agencies operating within the Chiefdom.
