No Vaccination No Yellow Card, Federal Ministry of Health Warns Intending Pilgrims To 2019 Hajj Operation

The Federal Ministry of Health has warned all Intending Pilgrims to this year’s Hajj operation from Nasarawa State to take advantage of the new E-yellow card introduced by ensuring that all intending Pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are vaccinated and issued their medical certificate to avoid any embarrassment at the point of traveling for the holy pilgrimage.
An Environmental Officer of Porter’s Services from the Federal Ministry of Health Dr,Peter Peter and Fatima mohammed Yusuf has disclosed this while monitoring the vaccination of intending Pilgrims at the Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at the weekend.
Dr.Fatima Yusuf warned pilgrims on consequence of one exempting him or herself from the exercise.
She affirmed that e’ yellow card would only be available to those vaccinated against Yellow Fever, Cerebral Spinal Meningitis (CSM) and Poliomyelitis would be considered.
She insisted that all intending Pilgrims must make themselves available but by proxy as it was obtainable for vaccination.
Dr.Fatima further explained that the introduction to of e’yellow card was meant to block leakages whereby Pilgrims were issued medical certificate without vaccination.
Dr.Peter Peter while shedding more light on the new e’yellow card said the introduction was aimed at authenticating genuine Pilgrims vaccinated.
“e’yellow card is an innovation which almost computerized system with all information of a Traveller with QR code which will dictate the real owner of yellow card ,this e’yellow card would authenticate the holders International passport”.
Peter maintained that the essence of the vaccination is to break the chain of transmission of diseases like Polio, Yellow Fever and CSM .
“The transfer of Yellow card with different name and different passport would not be tolerated.
The Head of the six man medical team from the State,Dr.Musa Abdullahi explained that the team comprised of 2 Medical doctors,2 Pharmacist and 2 Nurses respectively.
“The vaccination was in line with the declaration of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure that all intending Pilgrims from countries endemic to Polio, Yellow Fever, Cerebral Spinal Meningitis like Nigeria were vaccinated.
Dr.Musa Abdullahi said over 800 Intending Pilgrims would be vaccinated while those missed the first round can be revisited before their take-off.
The Executive Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board commended the intending Pilgrims as he consequently prayed for a hitch-free Hajj operation.
