No Entitlement or Retirement benefits paid to our Brother 10 years after His death -Family of First Indigenous Chief Judge of Plateau State, By Yakubu Busari,Jos

The family of first indigenous Chief Judge of Plateau state, Late Justice James Sambo Azi has complained that, ten years after his death no retirement benefit or entitlement was paid to their late brother.

The elders of the Afizere community development Association appreciated the gathering, stresses that 10 years ago when our late brother retired in 2004, no single kobo was paid to him including the hospital bills.

The family decried the challenges they went through we cannot afford to pay his hospital no justice of the court have live truthful with their calling.

The commissioner of Justice’s Hon. Olivia Dazyem has presented that late justice James Sambo Azi was called to bar in 1978 and has served Plateau state and Nigeria in various capacity.

In her motion of notice to the chief Judge Justice Pius Damulak on behalf of the state government and the Nigerian Barr Association, NBA , Chairman Latep Dafer pleaded with the honourable court for the  soul of the  Late Azi to be bury in his home town in Jos East Local Government Area.

The former Speaker Hon. Bar. Simon Lalong also expressed shock that a member of senior jurist goes home without receiving all his entitlement .

He promised that if elected he ensure that the he take the welfare of formers legislatures, retired judges and judicial officials to  receive their benefit as  when due .

He urged the members of NBA to look back and be serious with the issue of salary of judicial workers . The Chief Judge ,Justice Pius Damulak granted the application of the two applicants for soul of late James Sambo Azi to rest in peace. He urged the court to arrest the spirit of death and brought before him .

Damulak challenged the legal practitioners to be fearless and be incorruptible  while discharging their function.

Those present including, Rt Justice Adamu Sha , Justice’s Agibe of the supreme court and friends , serving and retired judges .

While granting the application before him, the chief judge said the valedictory session bears his experience on the past records of late Azi achievement.

He prayed God will grant him internal rest ,the application of the deceased born on the 29th March , 1943  in Jos division present day Jos east LGA .
