NLC  shut down Jos Electricity Distribution Company over  billing ,conditions of staffs

The national headquarters of Nigerian Labour Congress ,NLC, on Monday morning closed down the Jos Electricity Distribution head office for noncompliance to the lay-down procedure of NLC guidelines.

National Vice President ,  Musa  Ayisa has said the shutdown of Jos Electricity Distribution PLC headquarters became necessary when the company refused to work according to the Labour Law in the area of conditions of service.

He warned that if the owners  of this company are not ready to comply with the NLC guidelines such as workers’  welfare and hazard of the staffs we shall impose sanctions on them .

Addressing workers during the Monday protest of current low voltages and  indiscriminate increase of electricity billing system with a poor enumeration of the staffs .

Comrade Ayisa stressed that the disparity of salary payment   amongst   workers  of the organization gave them a great concern to intervene on their plight.

He said the state chapter of NLC in conjunction with the national body of the union to work toward repositioning the sector for better productivity.

The  Assistant National Secretary General Comrade Sule Anthony John said the protest is to appeal to the federal government to reverse the sales of PHCN to individuals who are exploiting citizens of Nigeria .

According to the inscriptions ,privatization is evil reverse ,NUEE say no to sack of workers without salary ,disparity of salary is evil, workers have family dependents and JED are exploiting us respectively.

Comrade John said they want to inform the world what is happening with the current privatization of PHCN in Nigeria where there is elliptic supply .

However, the Jos Electricity Distribution PLc headquarters includes, Jos ,Benue,Bauchi and Gombe .

The NLC leadership raised complain that the problem of poor distribution has affected the small scale businesses and household consumption.
