The Niger State Ministry of Education has conducted Mock Examination in core subject areas of English and Mathematics for all the Senior Secondary School Students in the State.
The examination took place last Saturday, June 12, 2021 in all Science and Conventional Public Schools.
It could be recalled that a similar examination was administered to the SS 3 Students of the eleven Technical and Vocational Schools in State on Monday, May 24, 2021.
The Honourable Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu accompanied by her Permanent Secretary, Engr. Sadiq Balarabe and some Directors went round some Schools to monitor the conduct of the examination.
She appreciated the smooth conduct of the examination in all the Secondary Schools her team visited and reiterated the government commitment on the provision of quality education at all levels in the State.
She further stated that henceforth, government sponsorship of Students for NECO and other National Examinations would be based on merit through performance of Students during yearly Mock Examination .
The Commissioner said it is a way of encouraging healthy academic competition among Schools, reiterating the readiness of the Ministry to institutionalize a yearly award for the School that post the best performance in Mock and other Examinations.
While reminding Students of the end of government examination sponsorship for un- serious Students, the Commissioner urged them to put in their best in the Mock Examination so as to benefit from government sponsorship in the forthcoming NECO Examination.
