A nongovernmental Organization, Concerned citizens of Nigeria working for the survival of the nascent democracy in Nigeria has urged President Mohammadu Buhari to address Nigeria on his true Identity as an elected President.

The National President of Concerned Nigerians Dr. Nebe Christopher in a press statement made available to newsmen at the weekend in Jos, said this call became necessary in order to clear the air within the next 21 days as political activities for February 2019 Presidential electioneering campaign commenced.

Dr. Christopher, who stressed that the group drummed support for Buhari in 2015, said it is very important the President should interact with the Nigerian Media and address the Nation on the ongoing rumor on his identity.

We insist Mr. President should come out and speak to the Nation first  on critical matters before  traveling abroad to speak to foreign media on sensitive national issues that affects the stability of Nigeria as a Nation.

According to him, the people of Nigeria cut across 36 states and the federal capital territory voted for President Buhari in 2015 on the ground of his promise to tackle the issues of corruption, insecurity and poor economy and challenged the President to remain focus in addressing these challenges that are begging for solutions.

Dr. Christopher said  that as 2019 general elections draws nearer , President Buhari should not take anything for granted ,but go all out to explain himself and what his government has done in the last 4 years to Nigerians towards  fulfilling  his campaign promises so that he earn their confidence during the 2019 general elections.

He added that President Buhari could still spring surprises again in 2019 to win the President elections if his true identity that his political foes are calling to question is addressed squarely.
