NEMA Visit Jigawa State As Flood Washes Away Villages

Flood has washed away Mai Rakumi village in Malam Madoti local government area of Jigawa State as almost all buildings have been submerged by the flood, a situation that has forced thousands of families to leave their place of living in Malam Madoti to Neighboring villages such as Arbus Chikauri while others sleep in public buildings.

This was confirmed by the Secretary Jigawa State SEMA State Emergency Management Agency. Malam Sani Yusif Babura while briefing Governor Badaru Abubakar on the nature of the flood disaster in the state shortly after going round the places where crops and houses were destroyed.

The secretary said the water washed away about two kilometers of farmlands in Yandutse village of Taura local government as well as Dabi Community.
