NAWOJ Frowns At Campaign Of Blackmail And Hatred By Yakubu Busari,Jos

The Nigeria Association of women Journalists (NAWOJ), Plateau state chapter chairperson Mrs. Jennifer Yarima has frowned against campaign of blackmail and hatred that is capable of igniting troubles that may likely divide people.

Yarima stated this during their one -day seminar to women on 1015 as panacea for stable democracy in Nigeria.

She pleaded with politicians to keep aside their differences and think Nigeria but embrace the spirit of sportsmanship by accepting the final verdict of the election whole heartedly.

Mrs Yarima added that ,as mother , let talk to our spouses and children to shelve their weapons of war because women suffer more when the environment is thrown into confusion, stresses the need to caution their children against been used as thugs or hired assassin by selfish people.

“We have the responsibility as citizens of Nigeria to exercise our franchise ,so let join hand and protect our votes by voting peacefully ,also ensure that you get your permanent voter cards ,PVCs which would guarantee your voting right ,INEC needs to be proactive”.

Yarima urged community leaders to report hoodlum to appropriate or the nearest security outfit.

She encouraged Women to remain strong particularly those vying for elective position in Plateau state.

Jennifer Yarima expressed concern the frequent attacks of innocent people by suspected suicide bombers and the violent activities of Boko Haram in the north east was uncalled for noted is a condemnable act.

The state commissioner for Transport, Plateau state Hon Abubakar Dashe applauded the NAWOJ for organizing such a wonderful program to enlighten and educates the women on the forthcoming election.

Dashe emphasized the role of women in nation building called on the NAWOJ preach peaceful coexistence.

He challenged the NUJ to sanitized the profession and ensure that the right people are allow to practice and report objectivity.

The commissioner also cautioned desperate politicians against the use of thugs to cause mayhem to innocent citizens during the electioneering campaign and voting exercise.
