Nasarawa Urban Development Board On Auto-Pilot, As The Tenure Of Managing Director Expired In 2017, SSA Reveals

`A document made available to Journalists uncovered that the then Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura re-appointed the erstwhile Managing Director, Adamu Sule as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Nasarawa Urban Development Board after the expiration of his tenure on May 29th,2019.

 

Is on record that the four years of the Managing Director has expired but was never been renewed like his rival Architect Stanley Buba, It was said that the Board was run without a substantive head, meaning NUDB is on autopilot.

 

The dust raised is yet to settle as the embattled Senior Special Assistant on Development Control opened the Pandora box reminding the state lawmakers of the expiration of the tenure of the Managing Director of NUDB.

 

Documents made available to selected Journalists revealed that the M.D ceased to be the overall head because he has a weak fortress to relied on, The question that needed ardent question is with the 7 approval the former Managing Director, Adamu Sule after his appointee signed, with whose signature and on what capacity ?.

 

The recent imbroglio between the M.D, Adamu Sule, and the SSA to the Governor on Development Control, Arch. Stanley Buba revealed a lot of anomalies committed which include overstay in office and was an excuse by the lawmakers, indicating that there is no fair hearing on the side of the SSA on Development Control.

 

Statistics have shown that Nasarawa state was ranked 36th position of states lacking ease of during business because of the long protocol involved in acquiring approval of the landed property.

 

While on the other hand, the document unveiled that SSA on Development Control signed 10,523 under the administration that appointed him as the head of the Urban Development Board.

 

An unconfirmed source said Adamu Sule was appointed by the then Al-Makura’s Government whose mandate expires the moment the tenure of his appointee expires on May 29th, 2019

 

The question to ask is what are the schedules of the embattled M.D and the SSA on Development Control?, In  a document made available to Journalists, It specified the schedules of the SSA to includes

Environmental Sanitation

Building approval

Liaising with NEWMAP

NAGIS,

Land and Physical planning as well with other relevant agencies

 

In a document signed by the former Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi dated July 31st,2017 which specified the duties of SSA on Development Control are

“Architect. Stanley Buba in his new role is expected to provide impetus to the Nasarawa State Urban Development priorities, slum upgrade, Urban Renewal Programmes, Environmental Sanitation, and Building Regulations and in compliance with the global development matrix.

In this case, is expected to interface with relevant government agencies including but limited to Nasarawa State Geographic Information Service, Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project, Nasarawa Urban Development Board, Ministries of Works, Housing and Transport, Land and Physical Planning et Al.

 

In the same way, the speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi inaugurated an Adhoc committee to investigate the activities of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Development Control, Architect Stanley Buba.

 

Balarabe Abdullahi during the inauguration of the committee charged the members to be fair and upright in their investigation.

 

The Speaker stated that the committee was not set up to intimidate, harass or embarrass any government official but to sanitize the system by ensuring that the right thing is done in accordance with the law.”

 

He emphasized that the house is not out to witch-hunt any government official but to ensure that the right thing is done.

 

The chairman of the ad-hoc committee, David Maiyaki in his remark, thanked the speaker for the confidence reposed on them and promised to do their best to come out with the best report.
