A total of 400 students were matriculated by the Consultancy Services Unit of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, the rector buttressed that out of the 400 matriculated students admitted for the various programmes are Diploma and Pre-Higher National Diploma.
Dr.Silas Gyar opined that 289 students are for Diploma while 120 students are for Pre-HND, he said the matriculants have the enormous opportunities to deepen their education, expand their understanding of society.
He affirmed that matriculation into the institution marks a special milestones as new faces and blood are injected into the Polytechnic as it provides an opportunity for freshmen and women who have gained admission into various programmes.
“We expect you to contribute your quota to enhancing the Polytechnic’s image wherever you find yourself and ensuring that you do not bring the name of the Polytechnic into disrepute”.
He urges the students to make the best use of the golden opportunity for gaining admission into the Polytechnic.
“Your ability to gained Diploma or HND will depend on how hard you work and how well you conduct yourself at the polytechnic, education comes with responsibility”.
“Those of you who are fortunate enough to have admitted to study at the Polytechnic have an obligation to use your education for the benefit of others “.
He gave the assurance that the Polytechnic is moving towards becoming a Polytechnic of word ranking that stakeholders will be proud of calling on all of you partner with the institution to enable school achieve its goals.
