Nasarawa State New PDP Chairman Accuses Governor Al-Makura Of Dividing The Party

The new People’s Democratic Party chairman in Nasarawa state, Hon.Francis Orogu has accused the chief executive of the state, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of causing havoc to the opposition party, the PDP.

Orogu speaking shortly after his emerged as the new chairman of the party while fielding questions from Journalists at his abode disclosed that the All Progressives Congress penetrated and divided the party apart.

Saying the ruling party in Nasarawa state lacks people that matters on ground, adding that the PDP needed a good leadership that would effect change in the party,

“In the past many damages were meted on our party by the state Governor, stating that Al-Makura paid PDP supporters to work for APC, A good representative is better than a dish on our dining table”, said Orogu.

Francis Orogu said outcome of yesterday’s election is a testimony that the party has spoken, he however said he fought injustice to emerge the current chairman through a transparent and fair election, promising to unite the party ahead of 2019 General election.

“The unity of the party remain paramount to the new crop of state executives “Hon.Orogu assured the party of landslide victory in Nasarawa/Toto federal House of Representatives by-election coming 28/05/2016.

The new chairman was optimistic that the opposition party would whisk away power from the APC come 2019 general elections.

“My mission is to whisk away power from the All Progressives Congress by year 2019″. The emergence of the former lawmaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly as the present chairman comes as a surprise to the heavyweights of the party ranging from senators, members of Federal House of Representatives.

Other party stakeholders that opposed the candidature of Orogu also include the immediate past state executives who are in support of the immediate past legal adviser of the party, Barrister Yakubu.

While the eighteen ex-state lawmakers stand firm for the victory of Francis Orogu, It was gathered that the present crop of members House of Assembly worked firmly for the success of the new chairman.

The current chairman, Hon.Orogu polled 283 votes as against Bar.Yakubu who polled 183 votes while Musa Danladi (Garkuwan Daddere) polled 4 votes, but further investigation revealed that some aggrieved party men are complaining of over voting in the state chairmanship election.

The outgoing chairman of the party, Chief Yunana Iliya has accused the state Governor of insensitivity, calling on the state Governor to take the path of honor, Iliya condemned the position of the Chief executive of constructing airport in Kwandare, Lafia Local Government,” The airport was just initiated to develop his village”.

Other hiccups of the present regime, according to the former chairman also include the inability of parents to pay the school fees of their wards due to percentage payment and delay in the payment of monthly salary to workers.

He also lambasted the incumbent administration in the state for her attempt to slash workers salary, saying the effort of downward review of salary may spelt doom to the current regime in the state.
