  • Come Out And Boldly To Tell The People Of The Debt Profile Of The State, Nurudeen Tells Sule

 

Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Aliyu Bello has called on the right thinking people of the State to disregard the press briefing organized by Hon. Nurudeen Omar, a candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance who vie for House of Representatives representing Lafia/Obi Federal constituency in 2015 election.

 

The party scribe hinted this while reacting to allegations over diversion of state resource by the former governor of the State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Bello maintained that the eight years reign of governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura is not a journey in futility.

 

He in addition buttressed that the State witnessed tremendous infrastructural development ranging from road, education, health, agriculture and amongst others.

 

“Nurudeen is not a serious politician because he will go into oblivion and reappeared because he wants to insult somebody”.

 

“What we Nasarawa APC want from Nuru is for him to quote the exact amount of debt our state owes instead of beating about the bush”.

 

“Again Nuru should know that the debt were incurred by successive administrations not Al-Makura government, he reacted.

Abdullahi Sule to reverse his position saying Nasarawa State is debt free.

 

He gave the hint at his abode in Millionaires quarter, Lafia as he expressed shock over the interview granted to Journalists, Nurudeen explained that he would not fold his arms seeing things going in a wrong direction.

 

Reminding  Governor Sule that the State is indebted to the tune of N100bn for that he should come out boldly to tell the people of the debt profile of the State.

 

These reactions are coming two weeks after the State Governor, Abdullahi Sule and his predecessor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura had a closed door meeting at Al-Makura office at Jabi, Abuja debunking some newspaper reports that the immediate past government under Al-Makura was indebted to the tune of N18.9bn.

 

It would be recalled that the State Governor, Engr.Abdullahi Alhajin. Sule and his predecessor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura during a press conference held in Abuja denied leaving behind debt while his successor, Sule also debunked inheriting N18.9bn.

 

Al-Makura while shedding more light on the debt incurred by his predecessor said he inherited huge debt from the then Akwe Doma.

 

According to him, “When I assumed office in May,2011 I paid the sum of N209m for a period of four years which translate to N10.032bn incurred by my predecessor Aliyu Akwe Doma.

 

Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura during the press conference says he did not collect any loan from commercial bank rather the debt range from bailout,Paris club,budget support and Excess Crude Account amongst others.

 

Governor Abdullahi Sule while responding averred that the State is debt free,he further denied that he never asserted that the State was grounded to a halt due to the quantum of debt been deducted from the source.

 

Governor. Sule explained that his Government is a functional administration which was prompt in the payment of salaries without itches while projects are ongoing.

 

“There is no better place like Nasarawa State”. The Governor averred that he will always remained committed and submissive to his predecessor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura,the architect of modern Nasarawa State”.

 

“I’m not an ingrate to be at loggerhead with my political mentor” said Governor. Engr. Abdullahi Alhaji. Sule.
