Nasarawa State Government Fires Embattle Nasarawa Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Silas Gyar Over Embezzlement

Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has approved the dismissal of the embattled Rector of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia Dr. Silas Gyar.
The was contained in a press statement signed by the Chairman Governing Council, Nasarawa State Polytechnic, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Karshi, Sani Mohammed Bako iii.
The statement reads, “His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Governor of Nasarawa State/visitor to Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, in line with the decisions of Government White paper on the report of The Investigative Committee Into The Activities of Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia has directed the Governing Council to convey approval of dismissal of Dr. Silas D.Gyar from the service of Nasarawa State Polytechnic Lafia with effect from 28th November 2018.
The press release further read that the visitor to the institution directed Dr.Silas D.Gyar , Former Rector, Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia to refund all the monies standing against his name in the white paper which bothered on corruption, misappropriation of public funds and Abuse of public trust.
The state government directed the sacked Rector to with immediate effect handover all official documents and other properties in his possession to the Covering Rector, Augustine Ali Gabu.
It would be recalled that the management staff of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic,Lafia,the Rector,Dr Silas Gyar,Registrar, Joseph Labani Dio and Bursar, Abdullahi Akyo were suspended by the visitor to the Institution over an alleged aggrandizement of funds belonging to the Polytechnic.
