Nasarawa state Governor,Abdullahi Sule has revealed that the state government has benefited from the Federal Government N1bn COVID-19 intervention as he commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Presidential Task Force for the gesture meant to fight the coronavirus pandemic to the latter.
Engineer Sule while given the breakdown of the pandemic, explained that the state has zero number of patients in the isolation centres across the state.
He in addition disclosed that a total of 3,751 tested negative while 15 cases still being awaited. the Governor further explained that the state recorded 449 confirmed cases with 346 discharged while 88 cases are currently undergoing treatment at home, He said the state recorded 13 death.
Engineer Sule cautions against breaking COVID-19 protocols, says pandemic still exists.
He cautioned people of the state against breaking the protocols put in place to contain and control further spread of the pandemic.
Engineer Sule handed down the caution while presiding over the monthly state executive council meeting, at the Government House.
The Governor who used the opportunity of the meeting to update the people on the COVID-19 status of the state, noted that even though Nasarawa State has made significant progress in containing the spread of the pandemic, it’s still necessary for the people to continue to maintain all the various COVID-19 protocols.
While commending the COVID-19 Task Force chaired by the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Engineer Sule urged the committee to continue with its awareness campaign across the state.
The Governor added that this is even more imperative, with both the Federal Government and Presidential Task Force, supporting the state with N1bn.
Meanwhile, Engineer Sule said Karu, Keffi, and Lafia still constitute about 86 percent of the total cases so far recorded.
