Nasarawa Sports Commissioner Denies Squandering N42 million

Nasarawa state commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon.Bamaiyi Anangba, has denied the allegation that he squandered N42million meant to finance activities of  the two state owned football clubs, Nasarawa United Fc and Amazons.

Anangba made the denial yesterday in a telephone interview with sports journalists in Lafia, saying that monies approved recently by government for execution of some matches of the two football clubs in state was yet to be released.

He explained that the ministry under his watch was committed in executing government policies and programmes in line with due process, transparency, prudence and accountability.

The commissioner said that the management of the ministry has taken measures to correct the many wrongs that took place in the past to achieved meaningful result in the state.

Anangba advised interest groups and stakeholders in sports to always be sure of what they say to avoid misleading members of the public.

On his part, Chairman of Nasarawa United Fc, Barrister Isaac Danladi in an interview with sports reporters said that the management of the club has no reason to complain as the state government has not fail in her support to the club.
