The Appeal court sitting in Makurdi, Benue state, has confirmed the election of Nasarawa State Executives of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as legitimate.
The presiding Judge, Justice AB Georgewill, therefore bans the lower court that is High court Doma from entertaining the matter henceforth.
In a ruling by Justice AB Georgewill says the PDP State, Local Government and ward congresses were legitimately conducted setting aside the judgement of the High Court in Doma Local Government Area.
According to Justice Georgewill, the lower court lacks the power to decide how the party congresses are to be conducted
He made reference to Supreme Court’s recent ruling on the PDP national Secretary crises to back up his judgement.
Meanwhile the Nasarawa State Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Bako Ninga has extended hand of fellowship to the aggrieved party members who went to court to join hands with him in rebuilding and uniting the party in the State ahead of next general elections.
