As TRIACTA Blames NUDB Over Gully Erosion

The swift intervention by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to end the impasses between the Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board, Adamu Sule, and the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Development Board, Architect. Stanley Buba overpower tussle has been addressed headlong by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly committee headed by Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara (APC) Representing Awe South constituency.


It was revealed by the SSA on Development Control to the committee that the Managing Director was occupying his office illegally following the expiration of his tenure in office.

Arch. Buba enquires for clarification from the Assembly on the line of duty between Development Control and NUDB, Insisting that he remain the head with his appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor.


David Maiyaki, member representing Karu constituency (PDP) suggested the need to sealed the office of the SSA, which he said by so doing will bring an end to the heat generated.


The committee Chairman who read the resolution to the two warring appointees drawn a margin between the duty of the Managing Director of NUDB and the SSA on Development Control.


Azara said that the leadership crisis between the two senior officers of the board is unhealthy for the system and uncalled for and has affected the development of the board and the state as a whole.


According to him, “the meeting was a follow up of our last meetings that we met and interact with both of you to know the actual causes of the problem in the board”.


” As a House, we must take a positive decision for peace to reign and for the development of the board.


” If we did not do it, posterity will judge us and we are doing this for the benefit of all.


” The law establishing Nasarawa Urban Development Board in the state is clear, the Managing Director is the head of the board.


The committee unveiled that the SSA would take charge of the board’s zonal office in the western zone while all approval in the zonal offices should be forwarded to the Managing Director.


” Anybody found wanting in our decision, we are going to take action. We want peace to reign in the board, ” said Hon. Suleiman.


The committee’s chairman assured the board of its readiness to supporting its activities to succeed.


It would be reported that some of the committee members, who spoke during the meeting stressed the need for adequate cooperation between the two  Government officials for the development of the board and the state at large.


The committee resolved that the status quo be maintained


All approval must be forwarded to the Managing Director


The supremacy of who takes charge of the overall activities of NUDB and Development Control was a brawl that grounded all other responsibilities to a halt as Adamu Sule abandoned his duty to lobbying monarchs seeking for elongation of tenure by Governor Abdullahi Sule.


The SSA and the Chairman of the committee attested that Adamu Sule is ovulating an illegal office, an insider who pleaded anonymity said the M. D is busy calling for meetings while another assignment suffers setback as gully erosion emanating from the activities of construction firms is about consuming the state capital and other urban centers like Doma, Nasarawa Eggon, Lafia, Nasarawa and amongst others.


Some of the duty of the Managing Director includes intermittent inspection of road project site so as to ensure that contracts are carried out according to specifications instead the board headship was busy holding unfruitful meetings that have no direct impact to the office he held.


Our reporter who visited some of the devastated locations in the state capital and it’s environed due to road construction can attest that gully erosion has potent great danger to the affected places which include the state capital.


The people of Tudun Gwandara are plunged to flood disasters due to the inability of NUDB to conduct an inspection of the road.
