Nasarawa Government Constructs Ten Hostels Accommodation Worth N2.4billion

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has charged the students of College of Education, Akwanga on maintenance culture, the governor stated this while commissioning the twin 350 capacity hostels accommodation constructed by the incumbent regime.

The governor disclosed that N2.4bn was invested on the building of ten hostels accommodation in the four tertiary institutions of Nasarawa state University, Keffi, Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, College of Education, Akwanga and College of Agriculture, Lafia.

He buttressed that the multi million naira hostels accommodations were 100 percent finance by the government of Nasarawa state, he pointed out that the state “of the art” hostels would be connected with motorized borehole.

Governor Al-Makura assured students of the institutions of adequate potable drinking water, urging the students to abide by the position of the school management.

The governor named the twin hostels accommodation after erstwhile Secretary to the State Government, Kasim Idris and Iliya Rini, late monarch from Akwanga, Al-Makura said the construction of hostels accommodations was meant to tackle the inadequate hostels in public tertiary institutions.

Governor Al-Makura also commissioned modern market in Akwanga that cost the government N500m, the governor also inspect the multimillion specialist hospital build to cater for the people of Nasarawa north senatorial zone.

During the commissioning of water works at Nasarawa Eggon, the governor expressed displeasure over the neglect of water project in Nasarawa Eggon since 1985, assuring the people that shortage of potable drinking water would be a thing of the past.
