The government of Nasarawa state is to commissions the “state of the art” students hostels at the state College of Education, Akwanga on 29th, the chairman of the committee of the twentieth year anniversary of the creation of Nasarawa state has stated.

The chairman, Aliyu Tijjani disclosed that the state governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura will also commission Bokoko Bridge in Agwada Development Area of Kokona local government.

The commissioner gave the hint while addressing Journalist at the state ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs, the chairman averred that the state governor would also commission Akwanga modern market conceived and completed by the current administration.

Other activities according to the chairman of the 20th year anniversary line up also include the commissioning of Nasarawa Eggon water supply project.

The chairman buttressed that the 30th of this month was slated for the commissioning of the renovated ten units of VIP guest Houses along shendam road, Lafia, the governor would also commission E’library in the state capital.

Other projects ready for commissioning in commemoration of the twentieth year anniversary was the commissioning of 16 Mango-prisons yard Road, Lafia, Honorable Tijjani however stated that the state governor is to grant prerogative of mercy to inmates in Lafia.

He confided that the governor is expected to hold the annual ritual of media chat at the state owned television and radio station, the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service on the 30th of this month.

He pointed out that the twentieth independence anniversary would be celebrated in low key which he said is in tandem with the decision of the President of the federal Republic of Nigeria.

Aliyu Tijjani attributed the low key celebration to the current economic recession biting harder.
