Rabiu Omaku
Nasarawa State is to spend a whooping N11.09bn on road construction, the State Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Planning, Haruna Adamu Ogbole has revealed.
He stated this during this year’s budget breakdown held at the Ministry, he explained that N11.09bn was expecting to be spend on road construction.
He unveiled that the road projects includes the completion of Lafia township roads (phase !!!) which gulped N1.50bn while the dualization of Shendam-Akurba road gulped N2bn.
Other roads are the completion of Kwandere-Keffi road project to the tune of N1bn and completion of Inter-city roads which includes Kadarko-Giza-Keana,Agaza-Agwatashi and Obi-Assakio roads as well Awe-Tunga roads gulping N2.4bn.
Other road network captured in 2020 budget includes the construction of Sisinbaki-Farin Ruwa road N1.7bn, construction of Mararaban Udege road N1.6bn and construction of feeder roads N1.1bn.
The 2020 budget tagged “Inclusive Development or ” Citizens Budget” Recurrent expenditure stand at N49.20 percent which translate to N49,453,458,463 while Capital expenditure toll 43.56 percent which stand at N43,786,827,247 and Consolidated Revenue Fund was 7.24 percent translating to N7,279,671,147.
The 2020 appropriation indicates an increase of N5,681,541,190.13 including supplementary budget, the Commissioner added that the budget would be funded from Opening balance, Federation Account, Statutory Revenue Allocation, Value Added Tax, Exchange Gain, Special Allocation, Internally Generated Revenue, Aids and Grants and Deficit Financing /Borrowing.
