The President of Nigeria Army Officers Wives Association, (NAOWA) , Mrs Fibishola Abubakar has distributed palliatives to widows, and soldiers’ wives to cushion and provide hope to the rise in prices of foodstuffs ahead of the Monday Christmas festivity also to reduce inflation in the military community.
Mrs. Abubakar disclosed the Maxwell Khobe Rukuba Barrack,3 Div in Plateau State on Friday.
He said , the assorted items disbursed to the military community include, Royal Stallion Rice of 10kg , Tomatoes Paste, grand cereal power oil and donation of two cows, and payment of hall for party on Xmas day celebration.
Mrs. Fibishola thanked God almighty and her amiable husband for his unflinching support for the welfare of Nigerian soldiers and widows of dead heroes as God granted us another season for merriment and sacrifice.
She employed the wives of the NAOWA to always ensure the safety of their worth during this festive period as we enjoyed the celebration and remained resolute.
Abubakar said , we thank God for granting us this year to see the end of 2023 and it is with profound gratitude that address you all on the occasion of love, and charity which she tasked people to eschew violence and embrace the teaching of Jesus Christ in their daily conduct.
She lauded the chief of defense wife , Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja for her commitment to the well-being of Nigerian soldiers in line of theatre operations where their husbands display supreme pride by laying down their lives for the sacrifice.
She added, “We can make a difference in the lives of our barracks community, we must continue to stand by our numerous and tremendous support to provide comfort and materials needs in the spirit of comradeship.
Abubakar stressed that the focal of our pivotal duties is to continue to praise God, our husbands for their dedication and compassion for the protection of our children and guide them against external aggressors ” ,she said.
The wife Garrison Commander, Mrs Dorothy Agi prayed protection of the wives of our falling heroes for paying supreme sacrifice for the nation.
She said NAOWA takes strike on the live of soldiers’ wives and their spouses as she eulogized the wife of Abubakar for her style of leadership of providing succour to the children of the less privilege living within confined of barracks community.
Agi urged the barracks community to give her the maximum cooperation for her to achieve the desired goal of building love and understanding amongst the barracks community as millions join you in promoting unity when the family is faced with the challenges of losing a beloved one.
We understand and recognize the sacrifice that soldiers’ wives go through which is enshrined in the military that shows that they demonstrated caring for others as a mother, “you are a beacon of hope to millions of homeless families “.
Responding Mrs Sofuru Chukwu applauded the outreach program reaching out to widows’ soldiers & wives in this period of dwindling challenges of economic hardship which an essential time for uplifting of human spirit of given at difficult times.
She prayed God to continue to bless the effort and passion to help those children of less privileged where each family smiles home with 10kg of rice oil, and tomatoes.
