Wounded In Action Officers, Soldiers And Other Patients Receives Relief Materials, Cash From Naowa President

Mrs Salamatu Faruk, the President, Nigerian Army Officers Wives  Association (NAOWA) on Friday presented relief materials and cash to the Wounded In Action (WIA) officers, soldiers  and other patients receiving treatment at 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna (44NARHK)

Mrs Faruk in her remarks, said the organization objectives are to assist the poor and the needy and raise the standard of living in the barracks across the nation. She appreciated the gallant contributions of the troops toward ensuring peace in our dear nation.

According to her, “Our hearts go out to each and every one of you receiving treatment and those currently out there in the frontline.” She assured continuous assistance of NAOWA to the  recuperating officers and soldiers. She urged them not  to loose hope but to continue to work hard to live a better life.

Earlier at the event , the Acting Chief Medical Director(CMD) 44NARHK, Col NS Onuchukwu, welcomed the President, NAOWA and members of her entourage to the hospital. He said the visit will serve as a morale booster to the Wounded In Action officers and soldiers.

The CMD also informed members of the NAOWA that 44NARHK, serves as a base hospital for military operations within the Nothern Region adding that the hospital is saddled with the responsibility of providing major medical specialist services for personel and their families as well as civilians in Kaduna and it’s environs.

Mrs Yahaya in another developmentment, also  laid foundation of five  blocks of class rooms for nursery and primary school in Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna.

The NAOWA president said the rational behind building additional 5 blocks of classrooms  was to expand the school and support soldiers family to improve the quality of education in the barracks.

She said as soldiers are deployed for various internal security operations across the country ,  therefore, it behoves on  NOAWA to take care of their families so that they can concentrate in tackling the security challenges bedeviling our nation. She also added that the quality of education provided by NAOWA school will enable the barracks children compete favourably with their counterparts any where in the country.

She rounded her visit to Rebadu Cantonment with donations of food items and cash to widows and women living in the Cantonment.
