His Royal Highness, The Sarkin Tunga,Alhaji .Muhammad Ibrahim Shuaibu (the fourth) has assured his subordinates affected in the allocation of farmland to Dangote Group of Company for the sitting of sugar Company in Tunga community of Awe Local Government of Nasarawa state of fair play by ensuring that due process is applied in the sharing formula
The monarch gave the disclosure in an interview with selected Journalists at his abode in Tunga community; the newly installed paramount ruler denied allegations that the N800m released by Dangote as compensation was misappropriated by the 10 man committee under his watch.
Adding that the N800m is in safe custody, saying five members from the community are a part of the committee including five other members from the state ministry of land.
He described members of the committee as persons with impeccable records and carefully selected by the state government.
“The information going round that I diverted money from the N800m is not true because I’m not a signatory to the account”.
“The account is named ‘Tunga Compensation Fund’ with FCMB, the monarch further unveiled that the bank would by next week open a branch to enable fair disbursement of the first round of compensation to the beneficiaries while screening of second batch would commences.
On the remaining plot of farmland, Muhammad Shuaibu said 500,000 hectares of farmland was reserved for the entire community.
While speaking over the N250M meant for the development of Tunga community by the sugar Company, the traditional ruler affirmed that the amount is yet to be release by Chief Executive Officer, Aliko Dangote.
“Is yet to release the N250M to the community, what they company are emphasizing was on our action plan, that is what we intend to do with the money”.
The paramount ruler asserted that the first action plan of the community is to sink Industrial boreholes in the community.
“We are prone to bilhaziasis for that Industrial borehole is the only solution to avert shortage of water in Tunga community “.
