My Agenda For Osun People -Adeleke

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke has opened up on his agenda for Osun people, declaring “I will serve the people”

Speaking while hosting European Union delegation led by Osaro Odemwingie ,Adeleke said he plans to rebuild the state’s economy through multi-sectoral local and foreign investment.

According to him, agricultural investment is the smartest way to address poverty and mass unemployment in the state, stating that his blueprint is very detailed on the sector.

” We will run an issue based campaign. I will focus on agriculture through investment. I am already talking to local and international stakeholders in this respect.

“We will review the state of the education sector to improve performance of our students in national examination. We used to be under single digit rating. Now Osun is number 29 or so.

“We will improve teachers’ welfare through regular payment of salaries and provision of teaching aids.  I will target education. Osun will be back to top position in national examination ratings.

“I will improve teachers’ salaries .We will pay pensioners and workers regularly .We will ensure basic education is free and functional. I will not compromise on workers welfare”, the PDP candidate said.

Speaking on management  of Osun state finance, Adeleke said he will enforce accountability and transparency. Decrying what he called dark dealings in state finance, the candidate said his administration will be holding monthly accountability forum.

“I will be hosting a monthly accountability forum. Revenue and expenditure of the state will be open to the public. I plan to serve the people of Osun state honestly and transparently

“On health care, functional preventive health policy will guide our administration. We will ensure primary health care is working across the wards and towns. I am already in talk with some foreign medical groups to assist Osun in boosting her health care system.

“We will not neglect critical infrastructures. Our roads  are in bad shape. What I am saying is that we have comprehensive blueprint for the governance of Osun state”, he said.

Odewmingie who led the delegation said the EU is committed to assisting Nigeria for the conduct of peaceful free and fair election in Osun state and others.

“We are going round to meet with stakeholders in the electoral process. We want to know the challenges and how we can help to address them to prevent electoral conflict”, he said.
