The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang organized a prayer session on Sunday to commensurate with the people killed by suspected insurgents on the eve of the Christmas Day celebration in Mangu, Bokkos, and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Councils.
In his message to the Peoples of Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang assured the state of securing the security of the state, saying that the state would be under God’s watch.
He called on the citizens of the state to embrace oneness and shun anything capable of creating problems amongst the state actors.
According to him, the time for politics is over this is the period for me to settle down for real work of governance. let put aside our differences and develop our state.
The dignitaries that graced the occasion include former Governors of Plateau and Adamawa: Senator Jonah Jang and Boni Haruna, members of the State Assembly, members of the Senate and Houses of the Representatives, heads of all denominations, elders in the Plateau State and Christian’s sons and daughters, residents from within and outside the State, and other people.
Estimated that around a hundred thousand people witnessed the Governorship victory of His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang at the polls and reaffirmation at the Supreme Court.
This medium gathered that mammoth crowd at the Standard Junction trekking down to the stadium owning the gridlock of vehicles heading to the stadium as crowd staggered, in that a person waits for the one in front to make a move.
In the Stadium, the People three times exceed the limits of the capacity of Rwang Pam Township Stadium, those outside are two times the numbers of those in the Stadium.
Gov. Mutfwang said, the number of people present in this Interdenominational service has reminded him the expectations of the people of Plateau State are very high and he promised not to let them down.
“By the grace of God, we will not fail you. We are determined to lead Plateau to a new realm; we will continue where our great leaders have stopped. We will ride on their shoulders and raise Plateau to a new level.
” I know God will supply the means, but I can assure you the heart to do it is here with us. All we need is the enablement to do what God wants us to do. By the grace of God, continue to pray for us; we will work together.
“And I’m sure that the prophecies that come are that all of us – individually and collectively as a state – we would move from healing to wholeness and greater heights.”
Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has applauded the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his neutrality and for refusing to bow to pressure from desperate politicians who want him to use his enormous power to subvert the path to justice.
And further said despite the power of Mr. President Ahmed Tinubu, he refused to submit to the pressure mounted on him by those the governor described as desperate politicians who want things to go their own way even when they did not deserve it.
He thanked God and said he is the one who knows when to enthrone the king, hand the one who opened the door, and knows when to shut it.
Thank his family, and the people of Plateau State for standing by him when the legal battle against his mandate lasted, and it’s honor that he will not take it for granted.
Mutfwang thanked the former governor of the state, Jonah David Jang, whom he described as a father, leader, and lover of Plateau State.
He appreciated those who stood in the gap and prayed for him and his family as the State has never prayed as they did in this Plateau.
The governor thanked the journalists for standing by him during his trying time and not allowing themselves to be muzzled by desperate politicians in the state and standing on the part of the truth and giving voice to the voiceless.
