Mukhtar Muhammad Mk Sworn In As Nans Zonal P.R.O

The renowned Bauchi based social commentator Comrade Mukhtar Muhammad Mk was sworn in as the Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANs) during the Inauguration of new executives of the association held in Sokoto last weekend.

Muhammad, along 10 others were Inaugurated as the zone ‘A’ executives of the association which comprises 10 northern states of Niger, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi and Gombe state, charged with the responsibility of leading the students of the zone for one calendar year.

During the Inauguration, the inaugural lecture presenter Dr. Sadi Shabe charged the new executives to be faithful and bear the oath they took, and to discharge their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. He also enjoined the new executives to be true activists, not sycophants who mortgage their dignity for peanuts.

Dr. Shabe also warned the new executives and the SUG presidents’ presence to avoid giving more emphasis to activism at the detriment of their studies, adding that a good Unionist is the one who balances his position as student and activism.

In a press release published on social media, Mukhtar thanked the SUG presidents of the tertiary institutions within zone A for the truth reposed on them to lead the students of the zone and pledge will they will strictly adhere to the interest of the students.

“We arrived here by the grace of the massive votes cast to us by the SUG presidents of the tertiary institutions within Zone A, it’s, therefore, necessary in the spirit of global democracy and accountability to express our gratitude to them all. Your sleepless nights will never be in vain, and in near future, you will realize that NANs is in safer hands”. The statement added.
