Mobilization: NYSC Warns Student Affairs Officers, Data Entry Officers Against Sharp Practices

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Shuaibu lbrahim has charged Student Affairs Officers (SAOs) and Data Entry Officers from Corps Producing lnstitutions in the country not to compromise the NYSC mobilization process by sending data of unqualified graduates for national service.

The DG gave the charge in his address at the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop themed; “Enhancing Stakeholders Roles for a for a Credible Mobilization Process”, which was organised for Student Affairs Officers, Data Entry Officers and Deployment and Relocation Officers from NYSC formations across the country held in Abuja.

Ibrahim noted that the role of Data Entry Officers and SAOs cannot be underestimated, therefore the integrity of the Data Entry Officers would facilitate a credible mobilization process.

He urged the officers to desist from sharp practices capable of undermining the mobilization process, even though there is improvement in data entry records compared to previous years.

The DG further emphasised that the on-going reforms in the mobilization process is in tandem with other aspects of NYSC operations, and is therefore in line with the Scheme’s quest to sustain it’s relevance which is indisputable.

The NYSC boss also called for an improved synergy between the NYSC and her Stakeholders for enhanced strategy to achieve success in the forth-coming 2021 Batch ‘C’ Orientation Course.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Director, Corps Mobilization Department, Mrs Victoria Ango said the Pre-Mobilization Workshop was instituted by NYSC Management to bring the representatives of all Corps Producing lnstitutions to a roundtable discussion on how to eliminate flaws and strengthen the fabrics of the routine enlistment of Prospective Corps Members for National Service.
