The Dean of Student’s Affairs of the Imo State University Owerrri,IMSU,Prof.Uchenna Martins Nwankwo,was on Tuesday, Oct.29th 2019,disclosed to newsmen that his varsity management board has gotten an approval to mobilizie over 2000 students for 2019 Batch “C” National Youth Service Corps,NYSC, for month of November 2019.
Before now, there has been questions to know whether or not IMSU prospective corps members will be going for service this year?
In his answer to that question,Prof.Nwankwo,said yes,that IMSU prospective corps members will be mobilized for the compulsory national youths service this year,2019.
He further noted that there are sharp practices by the hand of illegal students by reason of their mode of admission have put up bottlenecks in the 2019 Batch “C” Stream Mobilization but however I thank God we are going for service next week”,he affirmed.
The Dean Student’s Affairs in his determination to ensure all bottlenecks are cleared and sharp practices travelled to Abuja to clear the lingering issues.
“Just like we promised last year and we fulfilled it,IMSU prospective corps members for 2019 will surely go for service this year,” he asserted.
Concluding,the University Don,Nwankwo,charged all IMSU Prospective Corp Members to finish up for their clearance for Mobilization for November Batch C which will commenced this weeks
He also seized the opportunity to inform all cleared students for NYSC that he will be addressing them tomorrow by Wednesday, 30th October, 2019 by 10:00am at the Student Affairs Unit.
The university management also warns all Prospective Corp Members to desist from engaging in any activities that could Mar their academic years in the institution.
The Dean, therefore insisted that only real, genuine and authentic students of the institution would be allowed to go to the youths service,even as he accused so many students of fake admission into the varsity.
