Minister Of Water Resources Visits Emir Of Dutse, Calls For Support From The Traditional Rulers

The Minister of Water Resources,  Engineer Alhaji Suleiman Adamu has expressed concern over the recent crisis rocking the country, adding that the country is in a serious dilemma.

Adamu who said this at the Emir palace in Dutse while paying homage to Emir Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Sunusi at his palace shortly after visiting Governor Badaru Abubakar at Jigawa Government House said he was in the State following the directive from the president that all minister should go back to their respective state and sit with traditional rulers to find ways of solving the crisis in the country.

He explained further that the federal government is doing it best in managing the country despite the President meeting the country with issues such as hunger, Boko Haram insurgency, Cattle Rustling, Banditry, Kidnapping, Herdsmen/Farmers clashes, and many other social vices.

According he said lots of projects which were awarded 12 years before his government came in, which were abandoned are now at various stages of completion.

He assured that the government will soon introduce new social safety nets such as soft loans, social allowances to people so as to reduce hardships from to common man.

He asked the traditional rulers to give their support to the federal government in running the country, especially as regards the unity of the country.

While responding the Emir of Dutse Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Sunusi said as part of their contribution they have directed all Imams to pray for peace and also to preach for peace thereby educating the youths and the general public about the danger of any demonstration, even as he said it is unlawful under Islamic law.

The Emir said “we people of Jigawa are different from other people, we have been able to control our people and our youth because our people have respect for us and our leaders also respect the followers rightly” he stated.

He said, “here in Jigawa we have good leadership, we are united, we work together that is why we don’t have any problem in the state.

The Emir thanked the federal government for awarding contracts for the railway line from Kano down to the state capitals and some parts of the state adding that it is commendable.
