The paramount ruler of Doma, the headquarters of Doma Local Government of Nasarawa State, His Royal Highness, has admonished title holders in his domain to avoid mediating with drug dealings and marketing or losing their positions.
The monarch gave the hint when the top echelons of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nasarawa State command paid the royal father a courtesy, call at the Palace.
The Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga Onawo threatened to sanction his subordinates especially those interfering in drugs and other related cases to change a new leaf, saying any title holder who intercedes on behalf of drug dealers or marketers within his domain should blame him or herself.
Andoma , during the stakeholders meeting, which was the first of its kind with NDLEA frowned at the attitude of such title holders who meddle in the issue of drug control which is the constitutional role of the NDLEA.
Stressing that he would not hesitate to strip any title holder or individual no matter how highly placed in his domain, he advises parents and guardians alike to always caution their wards against drug peddling, addiction, and marketing.
Lamenting that Doma Local Government was amongst the leading Local Government Areas in the State in drug dealing and consumption
He urged that all hands must be on deck to wipe out the menace which he noted is capable of wiping out an entire race and community.
The Andoma of , while commenting, raised alarm over the rising spate of activities of online fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo boys” in Doma.
He enjoined parents to admonish their wards against the heinous and unpatriotic act which recently led to the repatriation of four top Yahoo gangsters from Doma to the United States of America to answer charges.
Director Operations Nasarawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Salihu Ibrahim, rated Doma Local Government as number one in drug addiction and marketing and pledged to mitigate the negative impression of the area.
The State Commandant of the NDLEA. thanked the Andoma of Doma for the opportunity given to them for the cleansing of the Community as well as the entire State.
