Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Adamawa State, has matriculated a total of 8,591 undergraduate and postgraduate students into various programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Speaking at the ceremony,  Ibrahim Umar the Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the newly admitted students and urged them to recognise the importance of their academic journey.

“As you begin this journey, you have not just gained admission into a university; you are embracing responsibility and committing yourselves to academic excellence, discipline, integrity, and the pursuit of knowledge,” he said.

He warned that the university maintains zero tolerance for examination malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, and other social vices, stressing that any student found culpable would face strict disciplinary action.

The Vice-Chancellor disclosed that 132 international students were admitted into various postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to high standards of academic excellence and discipline.

Highlighting recent developments, Umar noted that the university has expanded academically with the addition of three new faculties: the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, the Faculty of Computing, and the Faculty of Arts.

He further revealed that the university has recorded significant achievements in infrastructure, including the provision of a steady and reliable power supply. According to him, the institution now enjoys 24-hour solar-powered electricity, enhancing both learning and research activities.

“Additional hostel projects are already planned for the next academic session as we continue to match our growth with adequate facilities,” he added.
