Adamawa 2027: Galadima Declares Governorship Ambition, Receives Warm Welcome In Yola

Ahmed Tijjani Galadima, a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his intention to contest the Adamawa State governorship in the 2027 general elections.

Galadima made the घोषणा upon his arrival in Yola, where he was warmly received by a large crowd of supporters, party members, and well-wishers who gathered to welcome him.

Addressing the crowd, he said his decision to join the race was in response to calls from the people. He pledged courage, vision, and commitment to serve the state.

“The people have called, and I have answered. This is not just about politics, but about the future of our state, the empowerment of our youth, and restoring hope in governance,” he said.

He thanked the people of Adamawa State for their support and confidence, describing the growing backing across communities as a sign of a shared desire for purposeful leadership and positive change.

According to him, the movement is driven by unity and a collective goal to build a more inclusive, fair, and people-oriented system of governance.

As part of activities marking his declaration, Galadima is expected to commission an ultra-modern campaign office in Yola to strengthen grassroots mobilization and enhance political engagement across the state.

The event is expected to attract key stakeholders, party executives, youth groups, and community leaders, signaling what observers describe as an early build-up to the 2027 governorship race.

Galadima reiterated his commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous Adamawa, noting that the journey to 2027 is “a mission powered by the people.”

In separate remarks, Abubakar Baba Zango, who represents Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Federal Constituency, alongside Maxwell Gidado, a former Chief of Staff to the Adamawa State Government, and Calvin Peter, expressed confidence in Galadima’s candidacy. They stated that the Southern Zone fully supports his ambition.

They added that the large turnout was a clear indication of widespread support, describing his ambition as timely and deserving.

Also speaking, Bema Ovaldi, a member of the Federal Character Commission, expressed optimism about Galadima’s chances, noting that people from different communities and tribes across Adamawa are united in support of his aspiration.
