Man Stabs Elder Brother To Death In Jigawa

A 22-year-old man, Alfred Julius has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his elder brother to death in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The incident happened Thursday at Sabuwar, due to a misunderstanding between the suspect and his 30-year-old elder brother, Augustine Julius, leading to physical combat.

Speaking, an eyewitness told this medium that Alfred stabbed his elder brother (Augustine) with a knife, leading to his death.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to newsmen, as he said as police received the information that there was a wounded victim that has been taken to the Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital Dutse the victim was confirmed died while receiving treatment. 

The police immediately on receipt of the report, Policemen swung into action and rushed to the Hospital.

“On their arrival, it was discovered from the deceased father one  Julius Ochai ‘m’ age 65yrs of Sabuwar Takur Dutse LGA, that on the same date at about 1900hrs, fighting ensued between the two of his children, one Alfred Julius ‘m’ age 22yrs who was the Suspect and his elder brother, one Augustine Julius ‘m’ age 30yrs now deceased both of Sabuwar Takur Dutse metropolis, during the fight, Alfred stabbed Augustine with a  knife in multiple places, where he sustained grievous injuries and died while receiving treatment.

“Postmortem examination was conducted and confirmed death by Medical Doctor.

He said, “Suspect took to his heels, but efforts is on top gear with the assistance of his relatives to get him arrested and bring him to book.
