Maku In A Fix To Grab Labour Party Guber Ticket As Lagi Goes To Court By Rabiu Omaku
Labour party Governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State Hon. Innocent Lagi in his reaction on the media advert that he didn’t meet up to the requirement of running the ticket of the party n 2015 governorship election, he said he remains the party’s flagbearer come 28/2/2015.
The governorship contender stated this in an interview with members of the correspondent of the Nigerian Union of Journalist. He described the upheaval as an absurd situation.
Lagi averred that he remain the only suitable candidate, saying the present cacophony was the effort of Maku to kill the Labour Party for the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, adding that the intention was meant to finish the LP from existing in the state.
“We met with Maku on two occasions concerning the governorship seat but I told him that the governorship seat is not for sale, he even paid amount of waiver to allow him membership of the Labour party.
Innocent Lagi buttressed that he is ready to fight injustice done to him, the embattled LP governorship aspirant in an interview presented all necessary documents testifying his victory at the party primaries held on the 10/12/2014 at Akwanga Local Government.
“I was elected unopposed as the substantive guber candidate of the Labour party by paying my nomination form to the tune of N4 million, he further said he paid additional N3 million and donated a Hilux to the party secretariat with an intention to revive the party which I nurture.”
In the documents made available to universalreporters247.com by the guber aspirant, the embattled LP aspirant paid a whooping sum of N4m to the account of the party through the Gwarinpa Branch of Zenith Bank on the 16/12/2014 with account number 08139720, Lagi said the party was acting on the lack of knowledge.
