The Labour Party ,LP , Governorship Candidate Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum, has disclosed that the presidential candidate of the LP ,Dr. Peter Obi/Datti is the better choice to reposition and reform Nigeria to accommodate all diversity and improve our dwindling economy.
Dr Patrick Dakum made this known in Jos while on a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, at the Press Centre.
He stated that ,”I think we’ll be able to keep people in the driver’s seat when Peter Obi is elected president and I’m elected governor of Plateau.
Dakum tasked the citizens to vote for him and watch his record shall speak for itself, as someone who understands plateau people my blueprint will revamp back economic fortune of the state “.
He disclosed that, as the Director General and CEO of the Human Virology Center in Abuja, Dakum expressed optimism that, if given the chance to lead Plateau, he would attract meaningful projects that can touch the well-being of the state.
He emphasized that any government that does not value constructive criticism from the media will unavoidably fail miserably.
He claims, “Vote for me and you’ll see…my antecedents speak volumes for me! I was a commissioner for information, so check the records. I was also a commissioner for health.
The Labour Party flag bearer promised to partner with the NUJ because of my partnership with them over time that would continue, adding he would always laud constructive criticism of some members of the Plateau State NUJ.
According to him, Instead of stating “my own goodwill, I employ NUJ to evaluate what I have been doing as a governor and provide me with some constructive feedback, which I valued.
“A government is doomed to failure if it does not value constructive criticism! Therefore, you should speak up if you observe me making a choice that violates my promises to the citizenry of Plateau State.
My responsibility is to listen, correct, and proceed”.
Speaking about Peter Obi’s recent visit to flood-affected states, Dakum called him an outstanding leader who shows Nigerians that they matter. “Our party logo, of course, is about humanity; we are not talking about anything else.
Therefore, if someone is having difficulty, we need to understand them and work to find a solution”.
“
Let us have optimism for the time being because democracy is still a possibility in Nigeria. And I think we can talk about a new Nigeria and a new course of patriotism if we bring in the right people,” he said.
