LGSC To Provide Unified IDs Card For Senior Staffs In 27 LGAs In Jigawa

A total of 664 staff are currently studying for conventional courses at various institutions of higher learning in the country sponsored by the Jigawa state government under the supervision of the local government service commission.

 

This was made known by the chairman of the local government service commission and one-time DIG Alhaji Uba Bala Ringim in a press briefing held in Dutse.

 

Ringim said these sponsored students who are local government staff from various local governments across the 27 local government areas were paid the sum of N83, 966,933.00 million as their study allowances to acquire more qualifications.

 

Ringim added that the commission organized 32 workshops and seminars as well as an induction course for the local government last year 2020 in which the commission spent a total of N149, 250,249.00

 

 

In the area of retirement, he said 411 staff of the local government have retired from service and 496 retired from local education authority across the 27 local government areas in the state.

 

The chairman said a total of 110 local government staff were reported dead and 47 died at local education authorities across the 27 local government areas in the state.

 

The chairman explained that the commission has planned to provide a unified identity card to all senior staff working at local government areas in the State.

 

He added that the attendant register has been introduced to all the 27 local governments in the state with a view to avoiding the absenteeism of local government staff from daily work.
