An apex socio-cultural organization known as Olu-Owerri People’s Assembly, OPA, has been encouraged to uphold the aim and objectives in which their association was established.

The words of advice were made known to the group by some highly respected and notable lawyers ( legal practitioners) who are indigenes of Owerri Zone Extraction of Imo State, during the weekend in Owerri when the lawyers collectively drummed their unalloyed support to the current leadership of  Olu-Owerri People’s Assembly, OPA, ably led by the President General, Hon.Amb.Wisdom Ekewuba, JP.

Olu-Owerri as the apex socio-cultural platform with their paramount target to ensuring that an indigenous person from  Owerri Zone irrespective of his political party’s afflictions must be projected to emerge as the next Governor of Imo State in 2023/2024 Guber Polls.

Last weekend, precisely on Saturday, Jan.22nd, 2022 in Owerri, the apex socio-cultural organization under the headship of newly elected President General, Amb. Ekewuba was encouraged to always have the general interests of the people of Owerri Zone at heart at all times, even as they were encouraged not to be partisan ahead of the forthcoming elections exercise.

Advising members of Olu-Owerri, the lawyers from Owerri Zone who jointly lend their voices, charged the leadership of the union to remain intact and focused under the presidential mandates of the President General, Amb. Ekewuba and his led expanded executive members.

The lawyers, therefore, warned political merchants who are bent in sowing seeds of misunderstanding against the peace, development and unity of Owerri Zone to desist and allow the union to remain apolitical in their bids ahead of the polls.

“Remain focused and committed to the ideals for which the organization was formed”, Owerri Zone Lawyers advised.

The legal luminaries while speaking, accused some politicians of plotting to destabilize the union using some political merchants whose stocks in trades and antecedents are known to cause political mayhem amongst the people of Owerri Zone.

Responding, the President General of Olu-Owerri, Amb.Ekewuba, expressed satisfaction for the endorsement, support and encouragement bestowed upon his office as the President by Owerri Zone Lawyers, added that he is poised to offer effective and quality service delivery in his leadership as the President General of the group.

Ekewuba, while fielding journalists with answers to their questions on the alleged factionalization of his union, said, ” There is only one great Olu-Owerri People’s Assembly, OPA, which I am in charge of, as the President General. Anybody parading himself or herself as the Presidential General of Olu-Owerri is fake, faceless,  unacceptable, and person, if there is any, should be arrested and brought to book”.

“The union- Olu-Owerri has no faction.

Our National Executive as a registered body is very intact and united under my watch. I have the total and complete supports of the teeming members of my association”, Amb.Ekewuba.

Barr.  Uche Onyeagucha’s Campaign Organization for 2023 Owerri Zone Senatorial Position, has been congratulated by the current President General of Olu-Owerri,Amb.Ekewuba, on his position as the DG Onyeagucha’s Campaign Organization.

To Chief Opara, Ekewuba said, “You can never be the Olu-Owerri PG and Onyeagucha’s DG at the same time”.

Ekewuba, in his warning, called on Ndi-Owerri Zone not to continue any further dealing or transactions that concern Olu-Owerri with the DG Onyeagucha, Chief Opara.
