Lawmaker Representing Owerri North, Hon. Ejiogu Doles Out Food Items To Constituents Over Covid-19

As part of rendering help and succour to the needy and the downtrodden in the face of Coronavirus pandemic in Imo State, the Imo State House of Assembly member representing Owerri North State Constituency, Hon.Philip Ejiogu,was on last Monday,  April 6th 2020, doled out  food items,cash and some relief materials to indigent widows in his constituency.

 

Passionately according to the Emekuku-born lawmaker, Hon.Philip, who said, “I was touched and moved to continue what my family is known for (giving to the poorest of the poor our area). But due to the current Coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging our people, I have chosen to throw my little weight in my own capacity towards the fight against the disease that triggered the lockdown which is now causing hunger amidst the COVID-19 Stay At Home Mandate of the government”.

 

The young lawmaker, Ejiogu, while addressing the women (widows) from across the 21 Autonomous Communities in the constituency,  expressed worry over the uncomfortable stage of the whole situation that has caused the lockdown of all activities.

 

” I know it causing more harm but we have to bear it with patient. Stay At Home, maintain social distancing, make use of sanitizers and regular hand washing”, he advised.

 

Receiving the items, Mrs.Cyrina Onyenaeke,who spoke on behalf of the widows in the area, expressed happiness to have been remembered by the lawmaker, even as she prayed God to continue to protect him with good health.

 

“We are very surprise to be touched. We did not expect such gift. We are praying God to wipe away the disease. The Govt.requested that we should  Stay at Home and we obeyed but what are going to eat? But we thank you (Philip) for feeding us. Our prayer for you is longlife. God shall continue  to add more grace in your political ambitions”the widow prayed.

 

Adding his voice, the Director General of Philip Ejiogu Campaign Organization, Hon.Nnadozie Onyeakazi, said the widows are happy to have been blessed through Ejiogu.

 

Hon.Onyeakazi, disclosed that the widows only expected sanitizers but food items were given to them.

 

“My only happiness is that they (widows) in the 21 Autonomous Communities have collectively prayed God to grant Hon.Philip long life, wisdom, understanding and prosperity”, DG submitted.
