Lawmaker Laments Over Absence Of FG/State Presence In Doma South Constituency

A member of the federal House of representatives reNresenting Awe, Doma,Keana federal constituency has appealed to the federal government to as matter of urgency come to the rescue of people of Ekye Development Area by initiating projects that has bearing on the lives of people of the various communities.

The Honorable member, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo stated this when members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) paid him a condolence visit over the demise of his sister, Hajiya Hassana Onawo, speaking the Honorable member sent a save our soul message to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Onawo said the rescue of people of Ekye from the menace of flood disaster that ravaged Ohina bridge along Doma-Yelwa Ediya road became imperative as vast of the communities are farmers, he insisted that the people of Doma needed more than Ohina bridge.

65291137-7cee-4c82-af4c-9487092de399“What the people of Ekye needed is important to the wellbeing of the populace,” the Honorable member blamed Olam Nigeria Limited, owners of the largest rice farm in Africa for overstretching the disconnected bridge linking Doma, Yelwa.

Ediya, Igbabu, Idadu, Okpatta, Rukubi, Agirma, Ondori, Ijiwo, Akpanaja, Olegagbogye, an Agbashi, the administrative head of Ekye Development Area.

Other communities excise are Odeni Magaji,Olonya (Amaku) in Nasarawa local government respectively,he also expressed displeasure over the lack of social responsibility as he assured that a stakeholders forum is on underway.

“Important issues will be discussed and solutions will be proffered, the company in question did not exhibit much in the area of social responsibility to the host communities of Doma north and Doma south respectively”.

The Honorable member representing Awe, Doma, Keana said the stakeholders forum would inquire who are the culprits benefiting from Olam for the detriment of the larger populace.
