Land Dispute: Gombe South Calls On Government To Expedite Action On Boundary Demarcation

Ibrahim-Hassan-DankwamboTangle Community Development Association (TCDA) of Gombe south has called on Gombe state governor. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo to expedite action on boundary demarcation between them and the neighboring communities to avaoid further land dispues and communal crisis.

Mr Kastner Teleh, president TCDA president Mr Kastner made the call in a press release made available to journalists yesterday in Gombe, according to him, boundary demarcation will go a long way in reducing the lingering communal clash between diverse communities of the area.

‘The boundary demarcation would forestall reoccurrence of communal crisis and land disputes, It would also allow our people to do their legitimate work without fear of molestation, bring peace and reduce widowhood and high level of orphanage among our people’ Teleh said.

The southern part of Gombe had suffered reoccurrence of communal clashes and land disputes basically between diverse tribes living in the area. it could also be recalled that,  sometime in June this year, the same land dispute that occurred in the Tangale community involving  Billiri and Shongom Local Governments had claimed no less than four lives and left many others with various digrees of injuries.

The TCDA chairman however called on the state government to also create  jobs opportunities for the teeming youths of the area to reduce rate of youth restiveness. even as he commended the effort of the Dankwambo lead administration for a timely response and intervention by deploying security personnel to the respective communities to repell the ugly incident and protect lives and properties of the people.

Teleh further stated that, the Chief of Tangale Malam Abdu Meisharu, Elders and Youth representative in the area have unanimously agreed that the boundary should be demarcated between their domains and the communities around them.
