Lalong, Tyoden Commends INEC For Decisive Measure To Cancel Poll

The Media and Publicity Committee of the Lalong/Tyoden Campaign Organization has reacted to the declaration of the recently concluded Gubernatorial elections in Plateau State as inconclusive by the Electoral body .

INEC stating that as a responsible Campaign Organization and a law abiding Political Party, they have no choice but to accept the decision of the Electoral body even though their Candidate was leading comfortably and coasting to victory.

This was contained in a Press Release signed by the Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of the Campaign Organization, Barr Festus Fuanter stated further that as difficult as the decision .

The Campaign Organization has no choice but to comply with the Electoral body in the interest of transparency of the process and the need to give the final decision the legitimacy it requires.

According to Barr Fuanter, the Governor and candidate of the APC in the elections, Rt Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong who is himself a lawyer has agreed in the interest of democracy to essentially respect the decision of INEC.

In view of this development, the Campaign Organization has called on the  general public and the supporters of the APC in the State to remain calm and law abiding as according to it, the victory of the APC would only be delayed and can never be denied.

The Campaign Organization also thank the people of the State for the confidence reposed on their candidate and called on them to come out en mass to vote for the APC in the rerun elections.
