Lalong Policy On Tourism Would Turn Plateau Into Commercial Hub Of Nigeria

The Commissioner for Tourism, Hon Mr Tamwakat Weli has reiterated the state government readiness to reposition the tourism sector to serve as the viable industry in promoting the revenue base of the state.

 

Tamwakat stated this in an interview with our correspondent at the Yakubu Gowon secretariat on Tuesday while filling in question on the present conditions of Jos Hotel after the contract for PPA expired on 22end February, 2020.

 

She explained that under the administration of Governor Simon Bako Lalong the state is now working hard to make laws and policy towards repositioning the tourism industry.

 

Weli told journalists that the state government had introduced a lot of program to meet up the international standard to attract investors coming in to invest into the tourism industry.

 

She disclosed that there are group of investors approaching the ministry to take over the hotel but we believe that anyone coming to take over most be a serious business man because in the past nothing was going on due to the crisis that rock the state

 

 

Mrs Tamwakat said the revamping back the tourism sector would also improve the internal revenue of the state ,the last conference held on tourism sector has declared state of emergency were plateau state had a lot to transform and reposition with impact to the progress of the state.

 

We have a lot of program lineup to promote the tourism sector with massive changes as very soon thing are going to change and sustainability  that can enhance peace.

 

Tamwakat appealed to plateau citizens to continue to promote peaceful coexistence and stimulate growth.
