The Former Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local government Area, who was also ALGON Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Loman has said he will via for the Position of House of Representatives, For Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency.

In an interaction with newsmen in Jos. Loman speaks about his aspiration and other issues affecting the polity and citizens of the country.

The National Union of Local government Employees have been on protest for sometimes in the state and recently dispersed by security agents, it is an unfortunate situation, but the fact remains that, let me go back a little bit memory lane I was the ALGON chairman here on the Plateau and during our Tenure, the issue of the minimum wage was on ground which the workers were agitating for that and it led to a situation whereby Then-Governor Jonah David Jang had to invoke the law that says “no work no pay” and they eventually took us to Industrial court, in Abuja.

According to him, “coming back home, the present situation on the ground, let me be sincere, is going to difficult for the government to implement the thirty thousand minimum wage because of the subvention coming in from the federation Account cannot accommodate that but the mistake that the present governor made is that, from the beginning, he made a pronouncement that he is going to be the first person to implement that number one, that is not correct, he was just playing politics with it and number two, with the present situation on the ground, employing the security to humiliate workers who were having a peaceful demonstration and these are the same people that voted the governor into the office and he is using brutality to disperse them from a peaceful demonstration and a lot of shooting went on as if we are fighting a war”.

He stated that “Government should be promoting peace not creating a rancorous environment. I call on the Plateau state government to apologize to the workers because of that act of brutality is uncalled for”.

I have the intention to contest for the house of Representatives for Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal constituency and what prompted me is service to humanity.

I was in the local government as a Chairman of Barkin Ladi and I know very well what is obtainable between Barkin ladi and Riyom, and this time around, we have zoning arrangement between the two LGAs and now it is our turn in Barkin Ladi and as a citizen of the locality, having served at the local government level, and I also want to serve my people at the federal level and if given the opportunity, I will double my efforts in protecting the interests of our people.

There are a lot of people that have been there including the current senator, Senator ID Gyang, the current member. Dr. Simon Mwakon Feet and their performances have been very good and that is why my logo is showing consolidated assurance.

That means, if I go to the National Assembly, I will consolidate on what they have achieved so far and with assurance to my people that I will represent them well and I will do that in conjunction with the stakeholders and all the people of our constituency.

If I have the opportunity, I will do well by God’s grace.

On the Political situation on the Plateau. He said the political situation and permutation are gaining ground, today, PDP has reawakened on the Plateau.

We have taken the bull by the horns and realized our mistakes. APC is not performing up to Standard and as a result of that, people of Plateau state are fed up with them and PDP is returning stronger to take over.

In recent times, the country has been characterized by myriads of security challenges ranging from Boko Haram, Banditry, Kidnapping, etc.

He disclosed that” It is very unfortunate that this government came in with a negative agenda, not the one to unite the people of Nigeria neither put food on their tables, today, the rate of unemployment is very high in the country, the hunger is getting out of hand and banditry and kidnappings has become the only means of survival, mercenaries were brought into the country and they are now fighting back these things is happening because the government has failed to carry her responsibility in providing security, social amenities”.

Speaking further that  Automatically, this is a failed government, and let me tell you the truth, what I discovered is that, Mohammadu Buhari is not in charge of his government.

Adding, “Government has been seized from him,  because as a President, you need to take a precise position and he needs to show love to all citizens of the country and stop the act of nepotism when the President came on board, we raided alarm on the lopsided appointments he made and will put the country in trouble”.

Loman pointed out that, Now you must be a Hausa, Fulani before you will be appointed into a lucrative position.

He lamented that “The way people are arrested in the country by security agents especially those that criticize the government, this is no more democracy. In Nigeria, I think our “mumu is too much” we need to wake up look at the End SARS, is not all about police brutality alone but is about the bad economy.

Emma cautioned that A hungry man is an angry man and you don’t expect youths to be quiet after graduating from schools with no spaces of employment for them. What baffles me is the National Assembly, they have been passing laws and is not implemented by the executive.
