The National President of Socio Fulani Organizations world over, under the aegis of JondeJam, Alh Saidu Maikano Adamu has condemned completely the massacre in Mangu Local Government Council of Plateau State as barbaric and unwarranted for people who have lived together for over years as brothers and sisters.
This is as the Plateau State Governor Barrister Simon Lalong has condemned in strong terms the killing of innocent persons following an attack by gunmen at Kulben village in Kombun district of Mangu LGA on Wednesday 8th January 2020.
Adamu who expressed deep regret through a telephone interview with our correspondent in Jos cautioned against incessant killing between the natives and the herders.
He cautioned that the attack in Kulbel Village in Kombun District, Mangu Local Government Area was carried out by “a clashed between the natives and herders leading to the death of many people”
However, “one Klengchin Yusuf and eleven (11) others lost their lives while one person who was critically wounded is receiving treatment at the Mangu General Hospital”.
He employed all and sundry to continue to leave in peace with one another because God has not made mistake to bring them as members of one family, he frowned that no one is allowed to take the lives of innocent people.
Jonde Jam president described the attack as an attempt to subvert or puncture the heard end peace that has gradually returned between the herders and natives in the State.
Maikano Adamu commiserated with victims and families of those whose loved ones were cut in webs of this dastardly hostility by calling on the Federal and state government to fish out the perpetrators and punish them according to the law of the land.
He advised that the administration shouldn’t sit down and watch any group or individuals causing unnecessary feuds in the State and even return the state it’s dark days of insecurity.
He said, “As Fulani community leaders we are working hardtop ensure that people lie in peace with their neighbors by appealing to governor Lalong to ensure that peace returns to Plateau State and we will not allow anyone to make nonsense his efforts”.
Saidu Maikano explained that “We are asking on the appropriate authority not to be biased but to deal decisively with that group that flawed the state law and anybody found culpable in attacking or inciting people to carry out attacks against one another should face the law “.
Meanwhile, Gov, Simon Bako Lalong assured that thorough investigations will be carried out to get to the bottom of the matter as anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.
The Governor called for calm and advised against reprisals as Government is dealing with the situation.
Those injured have been taken to general hospital Mangu and are responding to treatment.
