Jos North Vows To Arrest Perpetrators Of University Of Jos Killer Squad

The Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Shehu Bala Usman has vowed to arrest any perpetrators of killings in Jos North LGA and suburbs of the council.

Local Authority says it will go after any person or persons who attack innocent citizens and fish them out to face the full wrath of the law.

Philip Eplong Senior Information Officer Jos North Local Government disclosed this in a statement.

According to him, in the event any suspect or suspects escape, the Local Government would have no choice but to arrest residents of the community or area where the event took place for appropriate sanctions.

 

He disclosed that after the declaration following the review of the curfew imposed by the Plateau State Government.

 

The Chairman said the administration of Governor Simon Lalong has invested so much towards the attainment of peace in the area.

The chairman warned that his administration would not allow any individual or groups who are bent in sabotaging government efforts to destroy such gains.

 

He warned his administration shall no longer tolerate unholy acts that could cause havoc and pain on innocent citizens.

 

Shehu Bala Usman says anyone found wanting no matter their status would be dealt with within the ambit of the law.

 

He, therefore, made a passionate appeal to Traditional, community, and religious leaders, Development and Youth organizations as well as officials of Tricycle and the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers Jos North and well-meaning individuals to assist the Government in sensitizing their followers on the need to live in peace and to report any strange movement to security operatives for government attention.

 

Usman further appreciated the efforts of the various security agencies, the Vigilante as well neighborhood watch in containing the situation and called on them to do more to avert any future occurrence.
