Jos North Deputy Leader, Rt.Hon. Uzoma Shares Free Fertilizers To Vanderpuye Ward, As Campaign Promises

The Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council of Plateau State, Barr. J.K Chris has flagged off the 2025 fertilizer distribution to the people of Vanderpuye ward councilor.

The symbolic presentation of fertilizers by the Deputy Leader, Rt.Hon.Okoro is to visit the constituency to boost food security.

The councilor, Rt.Hon.Uzoma Okoro Anthony received commendation for his visionary leadership of the council for fulfilling his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Vanderpuye.

Hon Uzoma Okoro was commended for his all-inclusiveness and pragmatic leadership as the Deputy Leader of the legislative arm, whose contributions had elevated him within the council.

However, Chris disclosed that in the  2025 farming season, the councilor of  Vanderpuye ward and our deputy leader in Jos North legislative arm, RT. Hon. Okoro Uzoma Anthony has carried everyone alone in ensuring that the people benefited from his free fertilizer for farmers.

The gesture is aimed at addressing production capacity and enhancing food sufficiency, and promoting peaceful coexistence amongst the citizens of the ward.

The event was held Vanderpuye Garden on Friday in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The council boss acknowledged the initiative of Uzoma Okoro as he also  promised his administration’s readiness to encourage wards development and health, agriculture, revenue, and security of lives and properties

Meanwhile, Rt.Hon.Okoro Uzoma Anthony expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the people of the ward appreciated his impact as their representative in building blocks of love and unity.

He said it is not easy for a politician in this critical period to cough out money to buy fertilizer at a subsidized rate and repack it, and distribute it free.’ I use my income to promote and ensure a bumper harvest.

Jos North council chairman, John Christopher, represented by the council secretary, Pharmacist Gyang Samuel applauded Anthony for creating the avenue to ensure fertilizers go across the board, noting that the gesture will go a long way to enhance unity and development in Vanderpuye ward.

He said Jos North administration under the leadership of John Christopher is working assiduously to entrench dividends of democracy for people in the locality.

However, Okoro Uzoma emphasized that they’re battling to enhance the IGR of the council under the current economic hardship to make sure that poor, vulnerable people benefit.

Mr Uzoma reiterated the need for the residents of Jos North LGA to work in harmony and also build synergy with the government in providing a qualitative health care system.

He harped on the positive contributions of Governor Caleb Mutfwang administration in subsidizing fertilizers to the 17 LGAs in the state.

Speaking further,”This is a Vanderpuye project regardless of partisanship based on ethnicity, religion or political affiliation”, said Anthony.

He promised to continue spearheading programs that would improve the economic and social well-being of people in Vanderpuye ward.

Rt.Hon.Okoro Uzoma appreciates Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s leadership prowess, which he says has intensified the provision of fertilizers to all 17 local governments in the state, and also the council chairmen of Jos North, Barr. John Christopher also subsidized the prices for farmers to make them accessible in his ward.

He further refuted the rumour circulating that Governor Mutfwang is defecting to APC from PDP., Anthony tasked constituents to disregard such narratives as the governor is focused on development, admonishing them to continue supporting the PDP administration in the state and local governments.

Special adviser to Governor Mutfwang on health and former Chief Medical Director of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Prof. Ishaya Pam, revealed that the foundation of wealth is agriculture, as Plateau has the advantage to achieve such.

Appreciating Anthony for giving back to society, Pam urged him to focus on health in subsequent intervention, saying that people are dying without them knowing their health status.

Leader of Jos North legislative arm, Rt. Hon. Job Izang Ayuba thanked Governor Mutfwang and John Christopher for creating a conducive atmosphere for councillors to bring about development in their various wards despite limited resources.

The Ward, head of Vanderpuye, Dan Manje Gyok, alongside Baba Bijim Goyil, who happens to be one of the beneficiaries, confirmed the councillor’s benevolence and prayed God Almighty to continue to bless him for him to do more.
