Christian and Muslim community in Jos Local Government Area on Thursday condemned in its totality a called by some anti-democratic elements planning evil against the Chairman of the Council.
This group under the auspices of Jos North progressive youth(JNPY) on the 28th of June, 2022 who are faceless claimed that they passed a vote of no confidence on the present Chairman of Jos North LGA, Hon Shehu Bala has no evidence to show that some “disruptive elements” are recruiting ethnic groups and politicians with the motive of convening conferences where a vote of no confidence will be passed would be a slam on the Hon Bala Shehu Usman, whose performance is a true reflection of peace in Jos North LGA.
The spokesman of the group, Hon Yohanna Davou Pam said the purpose of the move was to further throw the state into turmoil.
According to him, he disclosed this in a statement titled ‘ Jos North Local Government Chairman: Incompetences and Maladministration.”
Pam was giving further insights into a recent claim by the group what their sponsored group of politicians want, that some people were planning to undermine the council Chairman and his political contributions to the restoration of peace in Jos North LGA which remain a flash point of crises in Plateau state.
He, however, explained further that Hon . Bala Usman Shehu is working hard toward keeping the state together, even if some unruly feathers would be ruffled in the process to create acronym .He claimed that some disgruntled religious and past political leaders are behind the plans to orchestra their selfish political ambition to the detriment of the cooperative existence of oneness.
The statement read, “The alerted that sinister moves by misguided elements to wreak havoc in the forthcoming general elections and corporate existence of the state will not be achieved “.
Yohanna. Davou says, we don’t insult, incite people at home, or bring religion to be popular in politics but we advise citizens against fanatic and greedy, self-centered politicians.
We saw that this move was,” Championed by some disgruntled religious and present political leaders, the intention is to eventually throw the state into a tailspin, which would compel a forceful and undemocratic change of leadership.
“Further unimpeachable evidence shows that these disruptive elements are now recruiting the leadership of some ethnic groups and politicians around the council, with the intention of convening some sort of conference, where a vote of no confidence would be passed on the Chairman Hon Bala Shehu, thus throwing the land into further turmoil.
“The caterwauling, in recent times, by these elements, is to prepare the grounds adequately for their ignoble intentions, which are designed to cause further grief for the council.
“The agent provocateurs hope to achieve through artifice and sleight of hands, what they failed to do through the ballot box in the council elections.
“Nigerians have opted for democratic rule, and the only acceptable way to change a democratically elected council chairman is through elections, which hold at prescribed times in the country. Any other way is patently illegal and even treasonable. Of course, such would attract the necessary consequences.
“These discredited individuals and groups are also in cahoots with external forces to cause maximum damage in their own council. But the Local Government Chairman is, already vested with mandate and authority by Nigerians till the end of his tenure which is pledged to keep the council together, even if some unruly feathers would be ruffled in the process.”
Meanwhile , the Chairman of Jos North LG condemned the fracas that was disrupted during the legislative arm of the council during the sitting held this evening.
He said as a true democrat, I have nothing in connection with the members and he still remains the Chairman of Jos North LGA.
The Chairman stressed that those who perpetrated the crime by attacking the legislative arm are on their own.
